Autism – Learning Centre
At Sadbhaav Child Development Foundation, our Autism Learning Centre is a dedicated space where children on the autism spectrum receive structured
personalized support to build essential life, communication, social, and learning skills. We understand that every child with autism is unique with their own strengths, interests, and challenges. Our goal is to help each child learn in a way that works best for them, at their own pace. We don’t aim to “change” the child instead, we create an environment where they feel safe, understood, and encouraged to grow.
Who Is the Centre For?
Our learning centre is designed for children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), especially those who:
- Face delays in speech, communication, or social interaction
- Have difficulty adjusting in regular classroom settings
- Display repetitive behaviours or sensory sensitivities
- Struggle with routine, transitions, or behaviour regulation
- Need help with daily living skills like dressing, eating, or toileting
We support both verbal and non-verbal children, across a wide developmental range, and work with families to set realistic and meaningful goals.
What We Focus On
Our learning plans are designed to address the core areas where children with autism often need support:
- Communication skills — including speech, gesture, use of visual supports, or AAC
- Social skills — such as turn-taking, eye contact, interaction, and group play
- Daily living skills — grooming, toileting, eating, dressing, etc.
- Behaviour management — reducing meltdowns, increasing cooperation and attention
- Sensory integration — helping children cope with sound, touch, movement, etc.
- Cognitive and academic readiness — pre-learning skills, writing, basic concepts
Each child follows an individualised learning plan (ILP), prepared after an initial assessment, and regularly updated based on progress.
How the Centre Works
Sessions at the Autism Learning Centre are run by a team that may include:
- Special educators
- Occupational therapists
- Speech and language therapists
- Behaviour therapists
- Support staff trained in autism care
Activities are hands-on, visual, and structured — using schedules, charts, flashcards, and sensory materials to suit the child’s learning style. We follow consistent routines to reduce anxiety and build trust. Learning happens through play, repetition, and positive reinforcement.
We offer one-on-one sessions, small group sessions, and parent-child programs, depending on what suits the child best.
Working with Families
We believe that parents are partners in the child’s journey. That’s why we:
- Involve families in goal setting
- Provide regular updates and feedback
- Offer home strategies and activities
- Conduct parent guidance sessions and support groups
At Sadbhaav Child Development Foundation, our mission is simple — to help each child move one step closer to independence, confidence, and inclusion in the world around them. No pressure, no rush — just consistent support, care, and understanding.
