Behaviors Therapy
Evidence-based support for learning, communication, and behavior
At Sadbhaav Child Development Foundation, we support children who face ongoing challenges with behavior
Whether it’s frequent tantrums, aggression, withdrawal, or difficulty following rules. Behavior Therapy helps children learn positive ways to express themselves, manage their emotions, and respond better to everyday situations at home, school, or in social settings. Every child behaves differently, and occasional misbehavior is normal. But when these behaviors start affecting a child’s learning, relationships, or day-to-day functioning, it may be time to understand what’s behind them.

When Is Behavior Therapy Needed?
Children may benefit from behaviour therapy if they:
- Have frequent and intense tantrums or meltdowns
- Hit, bite, push, or show aggressive behaviour towards others
- Refuse to follow basic instructions at home or school
- Are overly anxious, withdrawn, or avoid social interaction
- Show obsessive or repetitive behaviours
- Struggle with routines like sleeping, eating, or toilet training
- Have difficulty managing frustration, waiting, or sharing
- Have diagnoses such as Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, or Developmental Delays
Behaviour therapy is not about “fixing” the child — it’s about understanding what’s causing the behaviour and teaching better ways to cope and respond.
Our Approach
At Sadbhaav Child Development Foundation, our psychologists and therapists begin with a detailed assessment that includes:
- Talking to parents or caregivers about concerns and daily routines
- Observing the child’s behaviour in different situations
- Understanding triggers and patterns (when, where, and why the behaviour happens)
- Reviewing inputs from teachers, if available
Based on this, we create a structured behaviour plan tailored to the child’s age, personality, and environment.
What Happens in a Session?
Therapy sessions are practical, interactive, and focused on real-life situations. Depending on the child’s needs, sessions may include:
- Teaching the child simple, clear ways to express emotions
- Helping them practice following instructions and routines
- Building social skills like sharing, taking turns, and waiting
- Using visual aids, stories, or games to model appropriate behaviour
- Reward-based strategies (positive reinforcement) to encourage progress
- Identifying and reducing triggers for unwanted behaviours
We work closely with the child in a supportive, non-judgmental environment where they feel safe to learn and grow.
Involving Parents and Caregivers
Behavior therapy is most effective when carried over into the child’s daily life. That’s why we:
- Train parents on how to handle difficult situations calmly
- Share techniques to reinforce positive behavior at home
- Help set consistent rules and boundaries
- Provide regular progress updates and adjust strategies as needed
We also guide families on how to collaborate with schools or other professionals involved in the child’s care.
At Sadbhaav Child Development Foundation, we believe every behavior is a form of communication. With the right support, children can learn better ways to express their needs and manage challenges — leading to a more peaceful and positive experience for both the child and the family.
